Our Quality Assurance (QA) team are key to ensuring our products are world-class. Working cross-functionally across a number of departments, as a Quality Assurance engineer you get the chance to work with the latest technology at the coal face of our business. You could be working with chemicals as a Lab Technician, carrying out parts investigations as a Quality Inspector, or delving into technical drawings in the Process Quality Team – wherever you are you’re guaranteed to be at the forefront of the ground-breaking technology of the future.
Our team of Laboratory Engineers and Technicians carry out routine testing of incoming materials from all over the world, including Europe, Japan, and the US. Carrying out a series of chemical, mechanical and electrical tests, they’re the team who ensure the chemicals we use meet our specification and standards.
You’ll liaise closely with other departments to carry out investigations and ensure everyone is aware of any potential risks, using highly specialised equipment and methods. Our Laboratory Technicians rely on a host of technology, including scanning electron microscopes, optical and digital microscopes, and XRF machines for elemental analysis.
It’s an incredibly technical role where you’ll need to draw on analytical tools and techniques like Gas Chromatography (GC) and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX) to carry out wet chemical testing.
Our Process Quality Team are the people who delve into the technical drawings and diagrams of our systems to find solutions.
Reporting directly into management, you’ll be checking things on the line and across the plant, carrying out root cause analysis to investigate potential problems and improve how we work.
In a technically advanced environment like ours, which relies heavily on automated equipment, our Process Quality Team have access to data with a level of detail you are unlikely to have encountered anywhere else.
Forming part of the Process team, our Quality Inspectors’ main goal is to ensure a level of quality that protects our customer.
Working underneath shift teams, you’ll carry out your investigations in a continental four on/four off shift pattern, ensuring there is always someone available to protect the integrity of our product.
You could be carrying out parts inspection, data analysis, containment or first level investigations – all using advanced machinery such as industrial x-rays, CT scanners, electrical testing equipment, optical monitoring equipment and more. Quality Inspectors also have the opportunity to work closely alongside our lab teams, carrying out investigations and using the specialist technology available there.
Made up of Customer Quality Assurance Engineer roles, Supplier Quality Engineers and Inspectors, our Central Quality team liaise directly with our customers to resolve any problems they may be experiencing with our product.
Acting as a counter measure, you’ll be carrying out detailed investigations and drawing on data to understand the cause of the issue and how we can resolve it. As you can imagine, you’ll spent a significant amount of time working closely with other departments including Engineering, Production Control and Purchasing to identify where problems have originated from and find a resolution for our customers.
Working in an evidence-led and data-driven culture, as a Quality Assurance Engineer you will be the first eyes on any issues within the plant and responsible for quickly finding solutions. A rapport of trust in your work and ability will grow as you function cross-collaboratively in teams, working together to build evidence and justification for solutions. A keen eye for detail, you will be working to extreme minute tolerances with high-powered microscopes and measuring equipment – with an issue potentially being within a thousandth of a mm.
