We are delighted to announce that two members of the AESC team have been shortlisted for the North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA) awards.
Engineer Elena Westerman is the only female shortlisted in this year’s Graduate award category.
Maintenance Technician Molly Craggs is one of three apprentices shortlisted for the Geoff Ford MBE Apprentice Award sponsored by Gateshead College.
Held on Thursday 23 March, the NEAA awards honour the brightest talent and outstanding achievements of companies shaping the North East automotive industry.
As well as fantastic recognition for the two individuals, the shortlisting is an acknowledgement of AESC’s commitment to developing and nurturing local talent through our apprenticeship programme and strong links to schools, colleges and universities in the region.
Future workforce
AESC employs nearly 500 employees in Sunderland and is investing heavily in its existing work force and future capability. They have 45 technician apprentices and a rapidly expanding graduate scheme for engineering, IT and supply chain management.
This is underpinned by an extensive partnership with Sunderland college, where an additional 68 employees are studying for nationally recognised qualifications.
