Maintenance Technician careers based on passion & variety.
Our Maintenance Technician careers are key as they are the people who keep our ultra-modern technology running smoothly. Whether you’re working within our Die Maintenance team, covering Cell and Module, or becoming an expert in our machinery as a Facilities Technician, you’ll play a key role in ensuring we operate as efficiently as possible. Like everyone at AESC UK, our Maintenance Technicians work cross-functionally, coming together as a team and collaborating with different departments as we work together towards a common goal.
Since starting his apprenticeship in Die Maintenance, Geoff has used opportunities in project working and zone rotations to make the move into Facilities Maintenance, growing from Apprentice to Technician to Team Leader and now Supervisor, where he is looking forward to this next chapter at AESC and the maintenance careers we offer.
“Being able to move between zones and actively contribute to important projects has helped me develop in my role and progress to Maintenance Supervisor. It is invigorating to now be able to view the whole factory process as one and support its excellence in delivery through managing and motivating our Maintenance workforce. I’m looking forward to growing and learning in this new role and I feel confident of the support, training and mentorship to help me succeed.”
Geoff, Maintenance Technician Supervisor
Facility Maintenance Technicians.
Our Facility Maintenance Technicians specialise in specific areas, becoming experts in the machinery in their section. But don’t worry – there’s still plenty of variety and you’ll have opportunities to rotate to different areas throughout your career.
As a Facility Maintenance Technician, you’ll develop an in-depth knowledge of the equipment in your area and become the go-to person for ensuring it performs to the required KPIs. Working with cutting edge equipment such as high speed motion control, vision systems, robot PLC control systems, our Facility Maintenance Technicians have the chance to develop a range of skills through comprehensive training.
Like all our Maintenance Technician careers, you’ll typically work on a continental shift pattern (dependent on business needs), providing a fantastic work-life balance.
Die Maintenance Technicians.
Die Maintenance Technicians predominantly cover Cell and Module production within our world-leading battery plant. This is a versatile role that is ideally suited for people who thrive on variety in their work. With a mix of routine maintenance of high precision cutting and ultrasonic welding equipment and machine shop tooling manufacture, to reacting quickly to incidents, you’ll play an essential role in keeping our plant moving.
Our Die Maintenance Technicians are relied on and trusted to solve problems, and in return you’ll need to take pride in your work and be passionate about finding a solution.
Teamwork is important in this role as you’ll work as one of three technicians on a shift, reporting to a Team Leader and ultimately the Facility Maintenance Supervisor. And, like all of our roles, you’ll receive all the training and support you need to become an expert in your craft.
Control System Technicians.
Our Control System Technicians specialise in the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems we use to run our state-of-the-art plant equipment. Unlike other Maintenance Technicians, our Control System Technician team covers every area of the plant, including breakdown, project and improvement work.
Working at Team Leader level, Control System Technicians work with some of the world’s most advanced automated manufacturing technology, getting the chance to work with brand new automation technology and carrying out machine modifications and improvements.
It’s an exciting and technologically advanced role, suited to electrical-biased technicians. You’ll have the opportunity to work with the world’s most up-to-date manufacturing equipment and be the first to receive training about any new machinery. AESC is constantly investing in new kit, so you’ll be working with the likes of Mitsubishi robots, OMRON and FANUC vision systems.
