Mission & Main Objectives:

This is an opportunity to join the Information Services function based at AESC’s Sunderland-based manufacturing facilities. Information Services manage all aspects of the IT infrastructure and information systems required to support the company’s UK operations.

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Operations Analyst to join our Operations team. The successful candidate will provide technical support in respect to our IT infrastructure and our manufacturing and corporate IS systems. The candidate will also provide Helpdesk services to our UK and EU user base. The role is therefore ideal for an individual with skills in IT and IS and a passion for problem-solving and customer service.

Note that the role is shift-based (the Operations team currently operate a continental shift pattern).

Outline and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, including servers, network appliances and PCs.
  • Provide technical support in respect to all manufacturing systems, including MES (Manufacturing Execution System), and corporate systems, including Microsoft 365.
  • Provide Helpdesk services to all users, including incident management and request fulfilment.
  • Collaborate with the wider Information Services function to develop and deliver new or enhanced solutions and services.
  • Assist in the development and adherence to IT and IS policies, processes and procedures.
Experience and Qualifications Required:

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Demonstrable IT skills with relevant experience of supporting IT infrastructure and IS systems.
  • Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good attention to detail and practical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure.

 

Preferred Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrable IT skills with relevant experience of supporting IT infrastructure and IS systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • A relevant IT degree.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally.
